The location of the hotel is amazing, with Monroe beach right next to it. Guests can take a scenic 45-minute hike to the mesmerizing sea and enjoy the stunning views. the rooms are spacious and clean, with large windows that provide amazing natural light and beautiful landscape views. the bathrooms are well-maintained and the water pressure in the showers is great. the service at the hotel is exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff who go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. the breakfast options are delicious and there is a wide variety of choices to suit everyone's taste. Plus, the lodge offers free activities like nature walks, feeding the eels, and glowworm night hikes, providing guests with a chance to explore and appreciate the unique environment around them.
The wifi at the hotel could be improved, as it struggles to perform even in the areas where it is said to work best.

That it was only for one night.
The location was in the middle of nowhere, would have preferred to create an itinerary that had us staying in Fox Glacier instead. We ended up doing a dark, foggy drive to Haast, which was rough. We were happy we ate dinner in Fox Glacier, as the only place to eat in Haast was this hotel's bar/restaurant. Hotel did not have a refrigerator, which would have been helpful as we hoped to save on breakfast costs by having cereal and juice in the mornings. Also, the restaurant/reception was not open at 8am when we were ready to leave.

The room is large enough for the family. The petrol station is right at the opposite road.
The bar is located separated from the room building. We have to walk in the rain for the dinner.

Celebrated New Year in NZ in a lodge with beautiful surroundings. Enjoyed bird watching like never before during our stay. the lodge was located next to a river and we had fun kayaking in it.
The accommodation was overpriced and did not provide value for money, especially considering the lack of internet and phone signal. It was hard to get in touch with the staff whenever we needed something.

It was clean, the staff were very friendly. The hotel was fine.
It was quite warm the day we arrived but the sand flies were so bad and there are no fly screens or air conditioning. So we had the choice of being eaten alive or being hot. There is nothing in Haast. It's more of a convenient stop over to break up a long drive (harsh but true)

The best thing was the service from the receptionist when we arrived late. There was no room service but we were able to buy meals from the bar next door and the receptionist kindly offered to pick it up and deliver the meals to our room, as she could see we were very tired. A much appreciated offer and great initiative !
To be blunt this hotel disappointed. The rooms, decor, furniture, fittings were very dated, the sliding door so old that we couldn't make the key work (had to get staff to help us), the carpet was mouldy and stained, the shower odd and a rather large and dangerous step up and honestly, terracotta pots filled with old cigarette butts outside the sliding door is just disgusting ! In desperation, we had $16.50 plates of fishburger and chips that were poor for the price. I know it's isolated and prices need to be up a little but it really let a taste of feeling ripped-of.

The breakfast and dinner provided were satisfying and had a decent variety. The staff was helpful in suggesting things to do nearby. The room view had a nice serene feel to it.
The hotel was quite far from the city center, and it was difficult to get transportation to go around. The rooms weren't cleaned regularly enough and the towels were not changed often.

Friendly and helpful receptionist. Good clean room. Reasonable restaurant. We hadn't booked an evening meal and the restaurant was full - the Motel does have a large number of coach parties, but the helpful staff did set up a table in the bar area for us and this was just as good.

Leaving it
This is a grossly over priced hotel with small out dated rooms and virtually no facilities. One could forgive some of the shortcomings if the adverts made clear that some normal facilities, such as a fridge, could not be provided

This hotel offers exclusive amenities that make it truly luxurious. the service is outstanding and the private facilities are top-notch. the restaurant serves delicious food and the location offers breathtaking views. the room advantages are amazing, with comfortable beds and high-quality linens.
The only minor issue I had was with the location, which was a bit remote. this also added to the exclusivity and luxury of the venue.

huge beds and friendly staff. The look was fun, the heritage theme ran strongly.
A little bit confusing getting around. A little more signage needed.

Close to nature.
When we arrived there's no one at the reception and we've to wait for a long time. When moved into the room and get some sleep during afternoon, the alarm was alerted since they were fixing it. The room is just normal comparing to the price and no fridge.
